Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Social and Health Services in Medical Lake, WA seeks a Certified Physician Assistant to join Eastern State Hospital. The role provides medical care for the Adult, Geropsychiatric, or Forensic units; hours are Monday–Friday 7:30 am–4:00 pm; starting salary is $192,312 annually. On-site work at least three days a week may qualify for an additional 5% premium pay. You will perform exams, diagnose, plan treatments, document care, and work with licensed staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Physician Assistant, Certified license issued by the Medical Quality Assurance Commission.
• Clinical licensure required to practice in Washington state.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients including physical examinations and establishing medical diagnoses.
• Interpret laboratory, imaging, and EKG results and determine appropriate treatment.
• Lead/direct licensed nursing staff in the treatment of medical illness/injury.
• Complete required chart documentation and billing documents.
• Participate in treatment planning as part of the care team.
• Support regulatory requirements and process improvements through committee involvement.

DSHS Physician Assistant Certified

We seek a Certified Physician’s Assistant to join the team at Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake, WA. The starting salary for this opportunity is $192,312 annually.

The work hours are Monday – Friday 07:30 am - 04:00 pm.

In this role, you will provide direct medical care to an assigned caseload of patients on the Adult, Geropsychiatric, or Forensic services unit. You will also assess, diagnose, and provide medical treatment to patients admitted to the hospital.

Some of what you’ll do:

• Provide medical care to patients including physical examinations and establishing medical diagnoses
• Provide appropriate evaluations and interpretation of laboratory, imaging, and EKG results
• Determine appropriate treatment and arrange for referrals if needed
• Lead/direct licensed nursing staff in the provision of treatment for medical illness/injury
• Complete required chart documentation and billing documents
• Participate as a member of the treatment team in creating the treatment plan for each patient
• Committee involvement to meet regulatory requirements and support process improvements.
