In this role, you report to the DDA Deputy Director of Innovation and Development at Headquarters. This position is on a team whose responsibility is developing partnerships, services, subsidies, and resources to increase availability, stability, and access to affordable housing for individuals with complex and critical needs. Your work supports DDA, Home and Community Services (HCS), and Health Care Authority (HCA) along with multiple internal and external parties to develop short term housing resources for clients facing displacement.
The Housing Displacement Specialist - HRSN position was established to support implementation of the federally funded Health and Related Social Needs Program, a part of the WA State 1115 demonstration waiver, with deliverables tied to CMS compliance, training, reporting, and cross-divisional and cross-agency alignment. It has responsibility in bridging the gap between the long-term care and home and community based service worlds and state and federal affordable housing resources that clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in WA State depend upon.

This position currently has approval to work a flexible/hybrid schedule, as business needs allow. Therefore, the successful applicant could predominantly telework, or if preferred, office space may be issued. Occasional statewide travel may be required based on business needs.
Project employment: This is meaningful, high-visibility project employment. Although temporary, it is benefit-eligible and is expected to be funded through June 30, 2028.
A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; AND 5 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
OR
A master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; AND 4 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
OR
One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.
OR
Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.
OR
A combination of professional experience/education of 9 years in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs including and implementing RCWs and WACs.
