Job summary

State-Operated Living Alternatives (SOLA) within the Washington State DSHS seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities at their homes. You will support daily living, health, and community activities, following individualized plans.

Evening/night shifts offer a differential; on-site roles may receive a 5% premium for eligible locations. Training and strong benefits accompany the role at SOLA.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities or related challenges plus a high school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience as Attendant Counselor 1 or higher-level state class plus a high school diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts and to interact with individuals in community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, teach, and mentor people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Assist and train clients with daily living skills.
  • Implement Individual Support Plan programs and services.
  • Transport and accompany clients to appointments or community activities.
  • Maintain safe and clean living environments.
  • Record participant information and report relevant home-management data.
  • Utilize an electronic data system to maintain client records.

Direct Support Professional (Attendant Counselor 2)

Each individual has unique support needs, your support may include cooking, personal care tasks, household tasks, community activities, medication administration and support to maintain good physical, behavioral and emotional health. This essential position provides paid training, excellent benefits and the ability to make a difference and transform someone’s life!

State-Operated Living Alternatives (SOLA) within the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) has multiple opportunities for Direct Care Providers including day, swing, night shift, and more. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

To be considered for this position, we ask that you have either:

One year of experience working with people with experiencing developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or mental health challenges, AND a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
AND
One year of experience as an Attendant Counselor 1, equivalent or higher-level state class, AND a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
