Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks a Cloud Application Engineer (Software Development Analyst) to design, develop, deploy, and support modern web applications hosted in AWS GovCloud.

Focus is on building responsive React.js SPAs with TypeScript and Material UI, integrating REST APIs, and deploying containerized workloads in AWS. Requires active Secret clearance and remote-eligible status aligned to East Coast hours.

Join the growing Warfare Systems Business Group at HII-Mission Technologies! We are seeking a Cloud Application Engineer (Software Development Analyst)to support theDefense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA),Office of the CIO, in support of the Foreign Military Sales Case Development Modernization effort.

In this role, you will design, develop, deploy, and support modern web applications hosted in AWS GovCloud. The position has a strong emphasis on building intuitive, responsive React.js Single Page Applications (SPAs), while requiring the full-stack and cloud engineering skills necessary to integrate, deploy, and operate those applications in AWS.

You will work across the application stack – including user experience, frontend architecture, APIs, authentication and authorization, cloud services, containerized workloads, data persistence, deployment, and operational troubleshooting. The idea candidate is a front-end-focused engineer with AWS deployment experience.

• Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
• Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
• Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.
• Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections
• Design and develop modern web applications using TypeScript, React, and Material UI (MUI) per DSCA standards, with an emphasis on responsive, accessible, and intuitive user experiences.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services, relational databases, object storage, and other AWS application services required to support the application.
• Build, deploy, and operate containerized applications in AWS.
• Support modern software delivery practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, code review, and application observability.
• Collaborate with product, platform, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and data teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through deployment and production support.
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, code review, automated testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
• Evaluate new technologies and development approaches and recommend pragmatic improvements to application architecture and engineering practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong proficiency inReact and modern frontend application architecture.
• Experience programming in TypeScript.
• Experience with Material UI (MUI), TanStack Query, and Fastify.
• Experience withREST API developmentand integration with front-end applications.
• Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS and integrating with AWS services.
• Solid understanding ofAgileand iterative development methodologies.
• Experience working with stakeholders to translate business processes into software requirements and solutions.
• Ability to work independently while thriving incollaborativeteam settings.
• Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret clearance at the time of consideration
• Remote-eligible position; must align with Eastern Time Zone core business hours

Software Development Analyst II

Software Development III
