Job summary

Haselden Construction, LLC in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled metal framing carpenter to install light-gauge and heavy-gauge framing, drywall, and related components on commercial jobs. You will read drawings, measure, cut, assemble, and ensure framing is level, plumb, and square while coordinating with the foreman and other trades.

This hands-on role emphasizes safety, reliability, and punctuality on site. Pay ranges from $28.00 to $34.00 per hour with weekly pay.

Qualifications

  • Experience laying out and installing light-gauge metal framing and heavy gauge from drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of metal studs, tracks, headers, backing, blocking, soffits, and ceiling assemblies.
  • Ability to measure, cut, assemble, and install framing materials.
  • Ability to verify work for proper alignment, level, plumb, and square.
  • Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from the Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Understand basic code requirements and how to achieve rated wall assemblies
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work in an active commercial construction environment.
  • Reliable transportation to assigned job sites. Travel outside of Denver when required
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test (required)

Responsibilities

  • Install light-gauge and heavy-gauge metal framing, including studs, tracks, headers, soffits, backing, and blocking.
  • Frame interior and exterior walls, ceilings, door openings, and other assemblies as directed.
  • Install hollow metal door frames and related framing components.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and securely fasten framing materials.
  • Verify framing is level, plumb, square, and properly aligned.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall panels on walls, ceilings, soffits, and other framed assemblies.
  • Have basic knowledge of different types drywall panels and when they are installed
  • Fasten drywall to framing using the appropriate tools, screws, and installation methods.
  • Cut drywall openings for doors, windows, electrical boxes, mechanical systems, and other penetrations.
  • Install backing, blocking, insulation, soundproofing materials, and other related materials as required.
  • Perform selective demolition and reconstruct walls, ceilings, and openings as needed.
  • Assist with install of doors and frames
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, aerial lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Communicate material needs and jobsite concerns to the Foreman.
  • Coordinate daily work with other team members and trades as directed.
  • Participate in the Plan of the Day, Pre-Task Plans, Toolbox Talks, and other jobsite safety activities.
  • Immediately report near misses, first-aid incidents, hazards, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work in an active construction environment.
  • Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls materials up to 50 lbs.; may occasionally lift or move heavier materials with assistance.
  • Regularly stands, walks, bends, kneels, squats, climbs, reaches, and works for extended periods.
  • May work indoors, outdoors, at heights, on uneven surfaces, around equipment, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all jobsite safety requirements.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00 per hour, Paid weekly. Pay is determined by knowledge and experience.
