Job summary

Anning-Johnson Company is seeking a drywall finisher to apply tape compound, finish walls/ceilings, and install trims on new and existing surfaces. The role requires reading drawings, ensuring tight joints, and maintaining tools and safety on site.

Wages are discussed by experience; standard responsibilities include preparing high walls, sanding between coats, and applying skim coats with attention to the 5 levels of drywall finishing.

Qualifications

• Experience with drywall finishing, taping and finishing tools preferred.
• Technical/other training or better is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting drawings.
• Checking surfaces—verify joints are tight and aligned and fastened to framing.
• Establishing a work schedule and flow of work.
• Organizing and verifying materials.
• Cleaning and repairing tools.
• Mixing Joint compounds.
• Applying fill coats.
• Applying finish coats.
• Finishing inside and outside corners.
• Dry sanding.
• Wet sanding.
• Vacuum sanding.
• Skim coating over gypsum board or concrete.
• Spraying finish compound.
• Know and understand the 5 levels and methods of drywall finishing.
