Job summary

Constellation seeks a Sr Dry Cask Storage Specialist to plan and execute DCS campaigns across the fleet. You will ensure equipment readiness, tool availability, work order planning, and safe work practices on site at Nine Mile Point or FitzPatrick.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or technical degree with related experience or an SRO license, plus the ability to travel 0–25%. You’ll engage in governance, schedule management, and continuous improvement within the DCS program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) or technical discipline with 2 years of related experience
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 2 years of related experience
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline with 4 years of related experience or 2 years of Constellation Reactor Services experience
  • High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience or 4 years of Constellation Reactor Services experience
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Responsibilities

  • Governance and Oversight (G&O) of DCS program processes and schedules for spent fuel loading campaigns
  • Oversee station DCS loading plan and schedule for compliance with Technical Specifications
  • Campaign planning and schedule preparation and execution
  • Assess implementation of the DCS program and processes during campaigns
  • Share best practices and review industry operating experience to improve processes
  • Review vendor performance trends and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement
  • Support DCS Managers with Peer team and business plan initiatives
  • Travel up to 25% to other Constellation Clean Energy Centers as needed
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

This role can be filled as a Dry Cask Storage Specialist (XOEF): Expected salary range of $102,600 to $114,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

This role can be filled as a Sr Dry Cask Storage Specialist (XOEH): Expected salary range of $124,200 to $138,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose Of Position

This position provides fleet wide support for the Reactor Services (RXS) Organization. The Sr Dry Cask Storage (DCS) Specialist is responsible for the thorough planning and execution of DCS campaigns across the fleet. These responsibilities include ensuring readiness with equipment, tooling, work order planning, scheduling, procedure development, technical support, preventative maintenance improvements, and ensuring safe work practices are adhered to throughout execution. Sr DCS Specialists support DCS loading campaigns at various locations and specifics of support can vary depending on skills and qualifications of the individuals. This is an onsite position that can be based at our Nine Mile Point or FitzPatrick location. Candidates must be able to work onsite at one of these locations as part of the role requirements.

Primary Duties And Accountabilities
  • Responsible for Governance and Oversight (G&O) of DCS program process/products such as the development of detailed plans / schedules for spent fuel loading campaigns, As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) practices, Technical Specification compliance, and DCS procedure development.
  • Provides oversight to ensure the station's DCS loading plan and schedule is executed in accordance with Technical Specifications and in compliance with station procedures, processes and goals.
  • Provides campaign planning and schedule preparation and execution.
  • Conducts assessments on the implementation of the DCS program and processes including observations made during the execution of the campaign.
  • Solicits best practices internally and externally to improve organizational effectiveness. Reviews Constellation fleet DCS lessons learned; attends industry meetings and working groups such as Holtec Users Group, Transnuclear Users Group, and Nuclear Energy Institute Spent Fuel Working Group; and reviews industry operating experience (OPEX) to identify best practices to be implemented.
  • Review vendor performance trends and drives corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Supports the DCS Managers with Peer team and business plan initiatives.
  • Must be willing to travel; 0-25% of time may be at another Constellation Clean Energy Center (CEC).
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) or technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, construction, computer science, mathematics, or physics) with 2 years of related experience OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 2 years of related experience OR
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline with 4 years of related experience or 2 years of Constellation Reactor Services experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience or 4 years of Constellation Reactor Services experience
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Minimum Qualifications Sr Dry Cask Storage Specialist (XOEH)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) or technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, construction, computer science, mathematics, or physics) with 5 years of industry experience or 3 years of Dry Cask Storage related or Constellation Reactor Services experience OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of industry experience or 3 years of Dry Cask Storage related or Constellation Reactor Services experience OR
  • Associate's degree in business or a technical discipline with 7 years of industry experience or 5 years of Dry Cask Storage related or Constellation Reactor Services experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 9 years of industry experience or 7 years of Dry Cask Storage related or Constellation Reactor Services experience
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
