Job summary

Central Supply Company, a CRH Company, in Barboursville, WV, is seeking a Dry Bulk Tanker Truck Driver. The role centers on safe operation of a DOT tractor-trailer and pneumatic trailer loading/unloading of powder cement, with emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities include following health, safety and DOT rules, performing pre/post-trip inspections, accurate delivery paperwork, and flexible scheduling. A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and DOT medical card are required.

Dry Bulk Tanker Truck Driver- Barboursville, WV

Position Overview

Your primary responsibility is to drive a DOT Tractor Trailer. You will be responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle as well as operating the pneumatic trailer for the purpose of loading and unloading powder cement. Ability to foster teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of yourself and others.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)

• Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment.
• Ability to safely drive a 45 ft. tractor trailer truck as directed, obeying all applicable laws, and following dispatch instructions.
• Properly perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance issues (Operator Level Maintenance).
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of product being loaded and delivered.
• Able to climb in and out of equipment safely using proper 3-points of contact and working at heights.
• Maintain communication with Dispatcher as necessary regarding deliveries; check delivery tickets for special instructions and complete as required.
• Maintain operator logs, forms, and records in accordance with company policy and Department of Transportation regulations.
• Complete written report of any issues or necessary repairs and forwards them to maintenance team. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Based on company needs the employee may be required to certify and operate other equipment such as forklift, loader, and others.
• Properly follows & promotes all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Must be able to maintain an acceptable attendance record in a flexible work schedule.
• Must always maintain a strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
• May perform other related duties as required or directed.
• Must be available to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.
• Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors, and public.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to Central Supply Inc. guidelines.

Education/Experience

• Commercial vehicle driving experience preferred.

Work Requirements

• Must possess a valid and current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement.
• Must possess a valid medical DOT card for CDL license.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission (preferred).
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.
• Regularly climb up and down into or out of the cab of the vehicle and climb up and down the rear ladder or rear access point of the vehicle during loading, unloading and/or vehicle wash down.
• Stand for long periods of time performing loading and offloading of materials in various weather conditions.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be conducted by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Climbing up onto and down off trucks, forklifts, stairs or other fixed or mobile equipment on a regular basis. Requires the use of all hand and foot holds to mount and dismount. Must be able to climb without limitation or restriction.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Operation of directional, speed, and operational controls on all trucks and equipment operated.
• Must be able to work shoveling materials on an infrequent basis.
