Job summary

SunSoft Online is seeking an experienced Drupal Developer for an Arizona state agency to architect, build, and maintain enterprise web applications while taking full ownership of development, UI, QA, and accessibility standards. This role is 100% onsite in Phoenix, AZ.

You will focus on Drupal 10/11 module and theme development, integrate APIs, optimize queries, and drive performance, security updates, and migrations. Onsite-only work and strict screen-reader accessibility testing are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Drupal development experience.
• Strong expertise in PHP, Twig, CSS/SASS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and custom module/theme development.
• ADA/WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility compliance experience.

About the Role

SunSoft Onlineis seeking an experiencedDrupal Developerfor an Arizona state agency's Office of the Director. In this role, you will architect, build, and maintain enterprise web applications while taking full ownership of development, UI, QA, and accessibility standards without relying on separate design or testing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Core Development:Architect, build, and maintain customDrupal 10/11modules and themes using clean PHP, Twig, and CSS/SASS.

Database & Integrations:Integrate third-party APIs, optimize MySQL/PostgreSQL queries, and manage application workflows.

Maintenance & Performance:Lead performance optimization, implement caching strategies, execute routine security updates, and assist with architecture upgrades and content migrations.

Accessibility Remediation:Ensure compliance withWCAG 2.2 Level AAstandards (including accessible authentication, target size, focus appearance, semantic HTML5, and WAI-ARIA).

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Required:5+ years of hands-onDrupaldevelopment experience.

Required:Strong expertise inPHP, Twig, CSS/SASS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and custom module/theme development.

Preferred:Deep understanding of coding standards andAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/WCAG 2.2 Level AAaccessibility compliance.
