Job summary

Guitar Center Stores, Inc. is seeking a Music Teacher to deliver lessons per the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum and to grow student enrollment.

You will work to ensure students enjoy learning while fostering our culture of integrity, inclusion, and musical passion. The role emphasizes teaching proficiency across instruments such as drums, guitar, and keyboard, with a focus on building lasting student relationships and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Music, Education, or related field.
  • Ability to teach the instrument they are proficient in (e.g., drums, guitar, keyboard).
  • Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area they will teach.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and retain student headcount with the store Lessons Lead based on community needs.
  • Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
  • Assist with Customer service as needed, helping to build and retain long-term students by creating a great experience.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr - $17.00/hr Non-Teaching Rate and up to $26.80/hr Total Teaching Rate depending on background and experience.

As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will work to increase student count ensuring each student continues to grow, develop, and enjoys playing music all while nurturing our culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.

As a Music Teacher, you will impact:
Store Culture & Excellence:
  • Partner with store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based off the needs of the community
  • Teach students utilizing the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum
  • Assist with Customer service as needed, helping to build and maintain long term students by creating a great experience
  • Additional duties as assigned
Student & Parent Partnership:
  • Partner with all students and families through frequent communication, building trusting relationships, and embracing the knowledge parents have as their child's Music Teacher
  • Communicate with students and/or parents of students on progress of each student
  • Share students and/or parents' goals and progress frequently
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in Music, Education, or related field
  • Ability to teach the instrument that they are proficient in such as Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, etc.
  • Skilled ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area they will be teaching
