Job summary

School of Rock North Dallas is searching for a passionate Drum Instructor/Teacher dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. In this role, you will maximize the quality of music instruction, create lesson plans, and communicate progress with parents. Ideal candidates will have over 3 years of experience in teaching and/or performing music, along with knowledge of music theory and strong customer relations skills. • Strong organizational and customer relations skills.
• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training.

Overview

School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 425 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music! We are looking for a Drum Instructor/Teacher to join us at our School of Rock North Dallas location.

Responsibilities

• Music Instruction: Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans
• Customer Connection: Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school
• Adheres to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
• Strong organizational skills
• Very strong customer relations skills
• Resourceful and good problem-solver
• Works well under pressure
• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
• Good judgment a must
• Passion for teaching
