Job summary

Obsidian is hiring to design an evaluation framework for frontier AI models in drug research. You will craft challenging, defensible research problems and build a data room anchored to real sources. You will also write a grading document that focuses on substance and reasoning quality, not style.

Work is in a browser-based studio with Claude Code; a Claude Max subscription is fully reimbursed. Commitment is 20–40 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and remote collaboration in mind.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industry track record in relevant fields.
• Ability to pose problems that are rigorous and defendable.
• Comfort evaluating reasoning quality, not just final answers.

Responsibilities

• Design the challenge — identify the hidden basin and forcing chain that makes one conclusion inevitable.
• Build the world — assemble a data room from real, source-grounded data with traceable values.
• Write the grader — create a grading document that scores a memo on substance and reasoning.
• Validate it — run verification and calibration before submission.
• Revise it — take ownership of revisions if requested by reviewers.
