Job summary

Matternet is hiring a Ground Support Crew Member in Los Angeles, CA to keep the drone network running at Northridge sites. You will inspect aircraft, load orders, and serve as the link between our partner restaurants and the remote ops center.

This field-based role demands reliability, safety discipline, and the ability to work outdoors across early mornings and weekends. You will accompany new site launches, perform pre/post-flight inspections, and ensure airworthiness records.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (current and valid).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems; aviation, automotive, robotics, or industrial background all considered.
• Ability to follow and execute written SOPs accurately in a safety-critical environment.
• Clear communicator; comfortable coordinating between a remote operations team and on-site merchant partners.
• Comfortable working outdoors, on your feet, across variable shift hours including early mornings and weekends.
• Ability to comply with the Company's FAA/DOT-mandated drug and alcohol testing program.

Responsibilities

• Support the launch of new operations sites, onboarding new customers and enrolling them in our delivery program.
• Conduct pre- and post-flight aircraft inspections; maintain airworthiness and maintenance records.
• Prepare and load payloads for each flight; verify order accuracy and packaging integrity at handoff.
• Operate and service ground equipment and charging systems.
• Act as the on-site liaison between remote operations center and partner restaurants/shops, coordinating flight schedules and communicating delays.
• Troubleshoot and document discrepancies; escalate through maintenance release process.
• Enforce site safety protocols and report occurrences through Safety Management System.
• Complete Operator certification and recurrent training to maintain active status.
