Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician builds, inspects, and supports the integration of advanced drone systems used in real‑world operational environments. This hands‑on role focuses on assembling flight‑critical structures, propulsion systems, and subsystems using precise methods and tooling, while working closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure each vehicle meets rigorous mechanical and performance standards. The position spans the full production lifecycle, from part preparation and alignment through final assembly and checkout, where attention to detail, discipline, and accountability are essential because the hardware produced will be flown in the field.
You will contribute directly to mission‑ready hardware in a highly collaborative, hands‑on environment where your craftsmanship has a visible impact on real‑world operations. This role is based on‑site at a manufacturing‑focused headquarters in San Diego, CA, and requires daily in‑person presence, as remote work is not applicable. You will work primarily on the shop floor in a hands‑on environment with regular exposure to power tools, metal powders, high‑temperature components, 3D printing equipment, and other machinery. The position requires standing for extended periods and lifting 50–75 lbs as part of routine duties. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided, and strict adherence to safety procedures, 5S practices, FOD control, and ESD control is expected. The environment is fast‑paced and production‑oriented, with potential for flexible schedules, second shifts, or occasional weekend work, and attire must comply with PPE and safety requirements appropriate for a manufacturing facility.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
