Job summary

Coastline Academy in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking an instructor for behind-the-wheel training. You will educate students on the fundamentals of operating a car in a company-provided vehicle, with paid training to obtain your state teaching certification.

Most lessons occur in the afternoons and weekends to fit student schedules. Training includes 60 hours of learning, including in-car sessions and shadowing, to prepare you for certification and ongoing teaching.

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine passion for helping people learn.

• Must have 10 years of legal driving experience.
• A valid State Driver's License in the state you wish to work in.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Pay: $18.21/hr (Non-Teaching Rate) $20.00/hr (Teaching Rate)

About This Role

• In a company-provided vehicle, you will educate and advise students while teaching them the fundamentals of operating a car behind the wheel


• We'll assist you in obtaining the state-required driving instructor certification through our paid training program. Our training team will guide you through the requirements and provide the coursework to obtain your state license.


• All of our lessons are taught in a Coastline Car and recorded with a dashboard camera for the safety of you and your student


• The majority of the demand for driving lessons is in the afternoons and weekends as most of our students are on a school schedule. A typical day could consist of three, two-hour lessons.

What does training entail?

• Training will consist of 60 hours of learning (40 hours of at home reading and modules and 20 hours of behind-the-wheel in-car in person training)


• In-person behind-the-wheel training in a Coastline car in your local area


• You will shadow 3 in-car lessons as well as do 3 x 4 hours of training with a Certified Trainer
