Capabilities LLC in Piqua, OH seeks a Driving Instructor to work one-on-one with individuals 16+ to teach traffic laws, signs, safety, and responsibility as they progress toward a learner’s permit or driver’s license.

You’ll accompany learners to the testing site, provide encouragement, and celebrate achievements when they pass. A strong focus on safety, communication, and confidence-building is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to type 25 wpm and use a company-issued laptop.
• A clean driving record and ability to teach in company vehicles.
• Passing a background check and drug screening will be required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals aged 16+ to learn traffic laws, signs, safety and responsibility.
• Work one-on-one and accompany learners to the testing site to support testing.
• Help students obtain a learner’s permit or driver’s license.
• Provide encouragement and celebrate achievements with learners.

DESCRIPTION

A Driving Instructor at Capabilities works with individuals with and without disabilities age 16+ to help them learn the skills necessary to get their learner’s permit and/or driver’s license.

You get to work one-on-one with people to teach traffic laws, signs, responsibility, safety, and build confidence while they are on-the-road. When they are ready to test, you accompany them to the testing site to support them and celebrate their achievements. Imagine this:

REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma/GED or above.
2. Ability to type 25 words per minute and navigate a company-issued laptop.
3. A clean driving record and ability to teach people to drive in company vehicles.
4. Ability to pass a background and drug screening (a list of the disqualifying offenses can be provided if needed).
