Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Product Engineering professional focused on design and releasing. CAD updates and documentation for CN/PER/IAA/TSA/FR will be handled collaboratively. Responsibilities include development and validation activities, DVPs, and DRBTR documentation with suppliers

Qualifications

  • Experience in product engineering processes is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA and design validation activities is desirable.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and change management workflows helps.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage design releases for propulsion components (prop shaft, transfer case, axle).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to finalize tool kick-off and change management in line with Customer Engineering practices.
  • Develop DVP proposals and support system-level DVPs and DRBTR documentation with suppliers and STLA.
  • Produce and manage documentation for CN/PER/IAA/TSA/FR changes; ensure CAD/model updates reflect CNs.
  • Support pilot builds with parts/hardware and manage source package documentation (SSTS, TS, etc).
  • Capture lessons learned and ensure calculations, analyses, and simulations align with test plans.

Job description

Product Engineering / Design & Releasing
  • Monitor purchased prop shaft, transfer case and axle design to support synchronous releases
  • Work with nominated suppliers to finalize Tool Kick-Off (TKO) and change management, honoring Customer Engineering Best Practice and design intent for every part.
  • Create/manage/finalize change management documentation for changes CN/PER/IAA/TSA/FR in collaboration with Suppliers
  • Ensure CAD and model updates following CNs
  • Complete TKO documentation (HWOCL with all supporting documentation)
  • Interface with Product release center and Vehicle team to implement changes impacting interfaces
  • Develop component and subsystem level DVP proposals and contribute to system level DVPs based on EBP assessments and DFMEA review of high RPN items
  • Work with DEVVAL and suppliers to complete component and subsystem level tests and DRBTR documentation
  • Support system level DVPs and complete DRBTR documentation with supplier and STLA for all STLA responsible system tests
  • Working with Supplier Operations Engineering (Supplier Quality) to develop PPAP for every part and support APQP process
  • Create/manage/finalize software and controls interface documentation (CFTS, iSPEED, VF Document, ASIL & HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) assessment, etc)
  • Create/manage/finalize mule build assembly process sheets based on input from DREs
  • Deliver parts / hardware to pilot builds, including requisitions for prototypes and ED&D
  • Create/manage/finalize source package documentation (part inspection standard, SSTS, TS, interface document, EBP tracking, etc)

Captures all lessons learned, and ensures timely execution of all calculations, analysis, and simulation in alignment with test plans and requirement

Development and Validation
  • 100% of DV (Design Validation) component and subsystem level (gearbox) testing (provided by Customer) to support X0 (pre-VP) build MRD
  • 100% of PV (Production Validation) component and subsystem level (driveline) testing (provided by Customer) to support X2 (PS) build MRD
  • Development and issue triage support for all build phases (X0, X1, X2). This includes, but not limited to, confirmation of correct Driveline operations operation, data collection and triage
