EmberHope is seeking a weekend driver in Wichita, KS. The role requires safely transporting children and youth to placements, maintaining a trauma-informed, safe environment, and following procedures.

To be a successful Driver you must become able to do the following always:
  • Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
  • Safely transport children and youth and their personal belongings, medication, and appropriate documents to their placements.
  • Observes standard operating procedures and safety practices; corrects and/or reports potential safety violations; monitors condition of facilities to always ensure a safe environment.
  • Keeps company vehicles clean.
  • Assists with special events.
  • Maintain documentation and data on transportation and communication with all parties while transporting children and youth.
  • Provide services that result in timely and safe achievement of company and state outcomes relevant to the position.
  • Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

To qualify for this job, you need to have:
  • Highschool Diploma or GED required.
  • Licensure - Good driving record, valid Kansas driver’s license and insurability through company’s carrier.
  • Work Experience - Two years additional training or related experience.
  • Good driving record, valid Kansas driver’s license and insurability through company’s carrier.
  • 21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
  • Maintain company-required training.
  • Physical working conditions - Ability to travel, driving company or personal vehicle including at night. Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk upstairs. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.

Summary

This position pays $17.31 hourly, an additional $1.50 per hour is added for shift differential when working any hours between 3pm and 7am.
