Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. in Liberty, SC, is seeking an experienced water truck operator responsible for transporting water to job sites and performing related duties in a safe, efficient manner.

The role requires a valid CDL A or B with tanker endorsements and at least two years of driving experience with a water truck, plus ability to perform pre-trip inspections and follow DOT regulations. You will work with maintenance and field crews to support paving projects and assist with minor truck

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection including oil, water, fuel, tires and lights each morning.
• Report problems or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Receive job assignments from supervisor or dispatcher.
• Load, transport and unload water to appointed destinations safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all company, DOT, Federal, State and local safety regulations.
• Maintain daily DOT logbook and submit as required.
• Complete forms and reports for supervisor/dispatcher.
• Assist crew with labor tasks when truck is not in use; perform minor truck maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

PURPOSE

Perform duties to drive a water truck for the purpose of transporting water to appointed/assigned job site and thereby perform various tasks needed in the safest and most expedient manner.

REQUIREMENTS

CDL - A or B with Tanker Endorsements. 2 years driving experience with CDL -A or B.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform pre-trip inspection which includes checking oil, water, fuel, tires and lights each morning prior to starting the day's activities.
• Report any problems or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Receive job assignment from supervisor or dispatcher.
• Assignments may include washing streets, proof rolling subgrade, washing pipe, wetting stone to setup for paving or wetting dirt to obtain density or to control dust.
• The ability to load and transport water to the appointed destination in a safe and efficient manner.
• Comply with all company, DOT, Federal, State, and local safety regulations.
• The ability to complete the daily DOT logbook and turn in as required to supervisor or dispatcher.
• Complete and turn in other required forms and reports to supervisor or dispatcher.
• The ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs to truck such as painting, washing, cleaning, etc.
• The ability to assist crew you were assigned to work with, in the performance of various laborious work, when truck is not needed or in use.
• Follow all safety rules and company policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE

Use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers including decimals and fractions is required. Check reports, forms, records and comparable data, where interpretation is required.

EXPERIENCE

Two years driving experience with your CDL A or B with safe and proper operation of water truck while empty or loaded, placing water, washing parking lots or streets, cleaning pipe, working next to traffic and driving on various sub-grades and inclines.
