Job summary

Indelco Plastics is hiring a Delivery Driver & Warehouse role to transport materials to various destinations, assist with receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment, and maintain warehouse safety and organization. You will coordinate with the Delivery Coordinator, load and unload goods, and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate deliveries with the Delivery Coordinator and determine routes.
  • Load product and materials securely and verify against shipping papers.
  • Deliver and unload at customer sites and obtain signatures for receipt.
  • Inspect delivery truck daily and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain truck logs, paperwork, and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist warehouse and city desk personnel as needed.
  • Support sales and customer service through accurate and timely service.

Delivery Driver & Warehouse Role

Drive a truck to transport materials in a raw or packaged form, to and from specified destinations such as plants, construction sites, offices, or within industrial yards by performing the following duties. Assists the warehouse in receiving, stocking, filling orders, and general maintenance and cleaning in the warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • On a daily basis, coordinating with the Delivery Coordinator, the deliveries of product or material to the proper destination by identifying the destination, selecting the route, and driving the vehicle.
  • Properly loads product and material on company delivery trucks to prevent damage during shipment, double-checking against shipping papers along with another warehouse employee for accuracy.
  • Delivers and unloads product on customer's premises, collects payment if COD, and obtains a signature for receipt of goods delivered.
  • On a daily basis, inspect the condition of the delivery truck, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Complete the Vehicle Maintenance Request form and turn into Delivery Coordinator as required.
  • Represent Indelco Plastics by wearing company-authorized clothing, which includes a telephone on a day-to-day basis. Clothing should be clean and changed on a daily basis.
  • Keep an updated truck driver log, all necessary paperwork, physicals when requested, and any other legal requirements to drive.
  • Maintain safe driving practices at all times, noting road conditions and product load, complying with Indelco's policies and procedures, and highway rules and regulations.
  • Receives product by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers. Conveys product from receiving to designated rack, shelves, or storage bin according to predetermined sequence.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, shelves, or conveys orders to the shipping department.
  • Opens crates, pallets, and other containers upon receiving for inspection of goods received, noting any discrepancies or damaged product to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Help out with the general upkeep of the warehouse area, such as sweeping of floors, breaking down pallets, organizing of inventory shelves, etc. Maintain the safety of the building, work area, and other employees by performing all duties within safety-established guidelines.
  • Make sure that the walkways and loading docks are clear of ice and snow by shoveling, applying salt, or sand, for the safety of customers, employees, and company assets.
  • Other duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Inform the customer of the product available for their application via phone call or face-to-face at City Desk.
  • Assist City Desk personnel as needed.
  • Assist Warehouse as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager and Customer Service Manager.
Skills
  • Above-average human relations skills, including the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented, with good mathematical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to work consistently and under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to locate missing product in the warehouse. Also, must be able to backtrack what other employees have done in placing or receiving items.
  • Valid driver's license.
