Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and knowledge of materials being pulled, packaged, and delivered to our customers. The employee will safely and accurately fill orders, load materials into delivery vans, drive and handle & deliver all materials in accordance with the company standards of service. This position is also responsible for various duties in the warehouse such as receiving and stocking material and operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and wire spooling, measuring, and cutting equipment. Ability to work well within a team as well as on your own.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Profit Center Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

Including but not limited to:

• High School diploma or GED.

• Valid Iowa Driver's License and good driving record.

• Ability to inspect, maintain, and operate a delivery vehicle.

• Ability to load and unload a delivery van/truck from ground level or platform in a variety of warehouse and construction worksite situations.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Ability to read and do math to correctly fill orders, properly and accurately deliver orders, and correctly complete all paperwork associated with deliveries.

• Ability to occasionally lift 70+ pounds.

• Ability to squat, kneel, bend, and twist.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in delivery, material handling and warehousing preferred.

• Customer Service experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

This position operates in a warehouse setting and outdoor conditions including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures. Making deliveries in all weather conditions including during extreme hot/cold, rain, snow and other seasonal weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, ladders, box cutters and tape dispensers. Occasional heavy lifting, and long periods of standing, driving and sitting.

Essential Job Functions:

• Deliver company materials to customers in a professional and efficient manner.

• Effectively and professionally meet and communicate with the public.

• Drive, automatic/manual transmission vehicle (safely & legally, driving violations may jeopardize your position as a driver).

• Shipping and receiving duties; including loading and unloading trucks.

• Read customer orders, sales orders, shipping orders to determine items to be picked, packed, distributed or shipped/transferred.

• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.

• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.

• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on carts or pallets. Package orders for delivery and load into delivery vehicle, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.

• Participate in annual counting of physical inventory.

• Open boxes and other containers.

• Operate wire spooling machine and cutter to cut wire according to customer orders.

• Operate forklift in warehouse setting.

• Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.

• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.

• Assist customers at will call and walk‑ins as required.
