Job summary

Quantix SCS is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport and deliver product to the Akron warehouse. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, completing safety checks, and assisting with shuttle and forklift tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a CDL, at least one year of over-the-road experience with a regulated carrier, and the ability to maintain accurate records while complying with DOT standards. A strong focus on safety and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid CDL from state of residence.
• 1 year of over-the-road tractor/trailer experience with a regulated carrier.
• Pass DOT physical, drug screen, and COEET.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record and background screen.
• No DUI/DWI or serious driving violations in recent years.
• Forklift experience in warehouse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport and deliver product to the warehouse.
• Load and unload bulk product; assist in loading/offloading shipments.
• Ensure timely delivery of loads and assist in shuttle moves when required.
• Operate forklift for warehouse tasks such as staging, stocking, and loading trailers.

Job summary

Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver product to Warehouse for packaging. Will be required to load and unload product. Candidate must meet the guidelines for the position as required by DOT qualifications and performance standards. Warehouse (forklift) and shuttle work as needed.

Summary of essential job functions

• This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager:
• Daily safe operation of company provided tractor and bulk trailer
• Load and deliver bulk plastic from rail car to warehouse from offsite rail facility via hopper truck
• Ensure timely delivery of bulk loads to the warehouse
• Assist in shuttle moves when required
• Assist in warehouse operations (i.e. using a forklift to do one or all of the following: staging orders for shipment, stocking received orders, loading orders into trailers for shipments)
• Load hopper truck from boxes to be picked up for later delivery
• Move dropped van trailers to and from dock doors
• Ensure that all A & R procedures and processes are followed throughout the movement of equipment and commodities.
• Maintain all appropriate records and ensure their accuracy
• Ensure that equipment usage and maintenance records are maintained
• Identification of the requirements used to apply and process Rail Car Identification Tags for Outbound truck shipments
• Practical knowledge of steps and inspection requirements necessary to perform a Clean, Dry, and Odor Free dry bulk container tank wash.
• Trailer inspection process.
• Trailer vacuum loading procedures.
• The use of Dense Phase unloading techniques in the Trailer Off-loading process.
• Use of the trailer document holder.
• General knowledge of the methodology and terminology used in the industry to understand the types of products and their handling properties.
• Silo evacuation process
• Steps identified to reduce the loss of pellets, including pellet retention and disposal procedures.
• Un-Supervised off-site Rail Car off loading requirements and procedures.
• Contamination control procedures.
• Reloading and blow-back procedures to remove excess product.
• In the performance of their assigned job, each employee's focus will also be on the continuous improvement of the task involved and how to improve on the methods used or the flow of activities necessary to provide a Quality service to the customer.

• Compliance with all DOT required mandates, including: Timely completion of drivers logs and vehicle records Hazardous Materials notification and training Federal Right to Know requirements Confined Space procedures

Requirements

Minimum requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) from state of residence
• 1 year recent over-the-road tractor/trailer verifiable experience with a regulated carrier
• No unexplained gaps in employment history over 30 days in the last three years
• No excessive number of jobs in the last three years
• Must successfully pass a minimum of a 6 month DOT Physical, pre-placement drug screen and a company required conditional offer of employment evaluation test “COEET”.
• Full review of Motor Vehicle Record, DAC and PSP
• No DUI / DWI , impaired driving or implied consent convictions within prior 6 years
• No more than 3 violations total within CSA’s Unsafe Driving and HOS Compliance BASICs within the prior 24 months
• No more than 2 Unsafe Driving convictions within the prior 18 months
• All 15+ mph over or Construction/Work Zone speeding violations within the past 3 years will be reviewed
• All reckless driving or careless driving convictions with the prior 3 years will be reviewed
• All felonies and other convictions that prohibit entry into Canada will be reviewed
• No more than 1 preventable accident/incident creating damage in the prior 24 months
• Sit down fork lift experience in a warehouse environment preferred
• Experience loading and unloading trucks and trailers
• Must be able to pass an employment and criminal background check
• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment;
• Must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties in an independent manner with minimal supervision;
• Detail oriented;

Special Position requirements

Following additional training in the methodology used in the handling of a variety of resin products, each driver must perform all duties and responsibilities in a proficient manner acceptable to the instructor including but not limited to the proper loading, unloading and cleaning of the equipment [Self loading Vacuum Pneumatic Trailer] before receiving a certificate of approval for dispatch.
