Carriage Services in the United States is seeking a Driver Transporter for a part-time, on-site role at Carlson Funeral Home. You will perform removals from homes and facilities, often on an on-call basis, with a strong focus on compassion and professionalism during difficult moments.

Candidates must hold a current Kansas driver’s license, be able to lift up to 75 pounds, and be willing to travel for removals. The position emphasizes safety, empathy, and courteous service to grieving families.

The Driver Transporter will be responsible carrying out removals from homes, hospitals and nursing homes etc.

Compensation: $12 per hour

Job Type: Part-Time

Location: Carlson Funeral Home

Job Duties

• Overnights and daytime availability are required (Drivers are on call – will be doing removals only.)
• Current Kansas driver’s license with good driving record
• Past experience is preferred but am willing to train.
• Must be willing to drive to complete removals that can be at times hours away.
• Professionalism and compassion are a must.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kansas Driver's License
• Ability to lift 75lbs·
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

• The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting; however, some duties may be performed outdoors. Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
• Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity and must be willing to work safely and comply with the Company’s safety procedures, including wearing any personal protective equipment that may be required.
• Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds, and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Performance of this position’s duties may also require power reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• This position’s duties require routine exposure to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens.
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record and must be insurable under company vehicle insurance.
