What Does PRN Mean?

As a PRN driver, you won't be scheduled for regular shifts—instead, you'll be called in or scheduled only when needed. This could include covering shifts due to high demand, staff absences, or special transportation requests. It's a perfect fit for individuals who need schedule flexibility or want to supplement other income.

  • PRN position – hours would be “on call/as needed”. Typically a 1-2 days notice for additional help on a specific day (during daytime hours). Hours can vary each time, most busy times are 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Occasional help in the afternoons.
  • Evening and weekend help - calendars are made a month out for these events, so you may have notice weeks in advance.
  • Longer coverage needs for PRN driver - known teammate vacations/leaves.
  • No guaranteed weekly hours; however it is typical to have hours each month due to the variety of requests and activities that occur in our busy senior community.
  • Ideal candidates could be retirees, students, part-time workers, or anyone looking for extra hours. And are available with short notice for days and some evening/weekend events monthly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Current Texas Commercial Driver's License for transporting passengers is a plus but not required for PRN

  • Working knowledge of activities for senior adults preferred
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to read maps, use GPS, and have good knowledge of Dallas and surrounding areas
  • Ability to communicate with residents with concern and compassion
