Job description

Job ID: 10416946 | Amazon.com Services LLC

This full‑time Driver Trainer position requires in‑role training at an operating site which will be 5+ weeks in duration. This training will be located 50+ miles away from the home site location, and all travel accommodations for the training will be booked and paid for by Amazon. Since opening our "virtual" doors in 1995, we have been pushing the boundaries of what is possible, and our entire business works hard to delight our customers from the moment an order is placed online to the seamless coordination of that order behind the scenes. Our core Leadership Principle of Bias for Action means that our teams band together, roll up their sleeves, and aren’t content with standing still; we aim to become the most customer‑centric company on Earth.

Rural Super Rural (RSR) is an exciting Amazon organization dedicated to ensuring our customers receive their deliveries and are satisfied with their service, even in our most remote areas. RSR combines operations and support teams aligned to continually innovate the last mile delivery process while bringing smiles to customers' faces.

Amazon is seeking self‑motivated Driver Trainers to join our team and help build a network of customer‑centric Delivery Associates in the communities where we operate. As a Driver Trainer, you have a passion for mentoring others; you are comfortable teaching and guiding conversations in large groups; and you believe in hands‑on training and conducting drive‑alongs with Delivery Associates to instill safe practices.

As a Driver Trainer, you establish the right driver training culture in your delivery station, set up the training experience, and independently instruct training sessions. You educate Delivery Associates on foundational safety, quality, and productivity aspects that are key to their daily routine, adapt to different learning styles, and take a hands‑on approach to demonstrate what good looks like. You exhibit Learn and Be Curious by answering all queries from Delivery Associates and finding answers when you are unsure.

Key job responsibilities
  • Facilitate daily training classes for up to 30 people, including in‑station classes and drive‑alongs.
  • Partner with Delivery Service Partners (DSPs), Operations Managers, Area Managers, and Learning Teams to coordinate, facilitate, and measure training‑related activities.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of processes, expectations, and training requirements for all drivers across the various driver programs in operation.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on the completion of trainings, compliance, safety, and maintenance duties.
  • Execute to the standard, always ensuring that the content and experience complement the safety, quality, and legal procedures as defined.
  • Educate and audit driver safety and compliance standards such as driver vehicle inspection reports, hours of service, trip planning, and safe road driving practices.
  • Track and monitor performance, including on‑road ride‑behinds, to measure quality, adherence to standards, and identify retraining and process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck as scheduled using approved equipment (dolly, etc.), with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work outside and drive different motor vehicles over the road.
  • Drive in accordance with DOT requirements.
  • Stay connected to the operation by participating in on‑road processes on a regular basis.
  • Be a resource to the delivery station for driver training‑related questions.
  • Work as a peer trainer on an as‑needed basis to support the business.
  • Motivate, coach, and provide feedback to Delivery Associates during training.
  • Travel to multiple sites within 50 miles of the home station and have reliable transportation.
  • Operate and navigate a vehicle 26,000 pounds or less.
  • Effectively operate a GPS.
  • Work 40 hours per week, and overtime as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

  • Work 40 hours per week, and overtime as required.
  • Valid and active driver's license.
  • Are 21 years of age or older.
  • Eligible to drive in accordance with DOT requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
