Job summary

Nation's Best in Walden, CO is seeking a driver to deliver goods and materials to customers safely and efficiently. You will complete weekly routes to the Denver area and load/unload materials while maintaining excellent customer service and a professional image.

The role requires a valid license and clean driving record; CDL is highly preferred and may lead to higher pay. Lifting up to 100 lbs and working outdoors are part of the job.

What Does a Driver Do?

• Deliver goods and materials safely and efficiently to customers and designated locations
• Independently complete a scheduled delivery/pickup route to the Denver area at least once per week
• Safely navigate longer-distance routes and varying road and weather conditions
• Load, unload and properly secure materials for transport
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding deliveries, schedules and any delays
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed
• Assist with yard organization, inventory and general store/yard needs when not making deliveries
• Lift and carry materials weighing 25-50 lbs consistently, with heavier items handled with assistance
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Be flexible with overtime or schedule adjustments when business needs require it
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Driver?

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
• CDL highly preferred; qualified CDL drivers may be eligible for a higher starting wage based on license class and experience
• Ability and willingness to independently drive longer-distance routes, including weekly trips between Walden and the Denver area
• Construction, lumber or building materials experience preferred, but not required
• 1+ year of forklift experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Dependable and comfortable working independently while on the road
• Ability to climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel and lift up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Comfortable handling large or odd-shaped building materials and stocking overhead areas
• Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable

This position may be full-time or part-time depending on experience, availability and willingness to cross-train. Hours may fluctuate based on seasonal and business needs. Full-time opportunities may be available for candidates willing to assist in other areas of the store. CDL drivers are encouraged to apply and may qualify for higher pay.
