Job summary

Pinnacle Propane is seeking a Driver Technician II to safely load and deliver propane, fill customer tanks, and maintain daily logs. You will ensure on-time deliveries, manage field maintenance, and uphold safety standards across residential and commercial routes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements.
• 1+ years of truck driving experience.
• Propane service, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or related field experience preferred.
• Ability to operate in adverse weather and abide by DOT rules.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and deliver propane via bobtail truck to residential and commercial locations.
• Fill empty customer tanks of all sizes by pulling the hose from the truck to the tank location.
• Complete driver logs and paperwork and mail to main office daily.
• Perform daily truck maintenance and keep equipment clean and safe.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and meet delivery windows.

Job Title: Driver Technician II

FLSA Status: Non-exempt (Full-time)

Reports To: Operations Supervisor

Pinnacle Propane sells propane gas to residential, commercial, and wholesale customers, as well as selling and leasing propane tanks to residential and commercial users. Our Bulk Drivers provide propane to our residential and commercial locations in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining awareness of customer satisfaction and public safety.

Bulk Drivers are eligible for a $3,000 Sign‑On Bonus.

Sign-On Bonus Policy

• Payout would apply to any new candidate or former employee with a separation before 1/1/2020.
• New hire will be eligible for an initial payment of $750 following 90 days from his/her date of hire to be paid out on the next payroll.
• New hire will receive final payout of $2,250 following 12 months from his/her date of hire to be paid out on the next payroll.
• New hire forfeits the entire bonus ($3,000) if he/she resigns, is terminated for cause, or fails any portion of the new hire screening process prior to their 30th day of employment.
• Employee forfeits the second payout ($2,250) if he/she resigns or is terminated for cause after their 30th day of employment but prior to their 6th completed month of employment.

Essential Job Functions

• Safely load and deliver propane via bobtail truck to residential and commercial locations
• Fill empty customer tanks of all sizes by pulling the hose from the truck to the tank location (Customer tanks may be located indoors or outdoors)
• Properly fill out driver logs and daily paperwork and mail paperwork to the main office daily
• Perform all truck maintenance daily, verify all safety supplies are on the truck, keep inside and outside of truck clean and orderly, and notify managers of any issues that need to be fixed
• Maintain positive friendly working relationships with all customers, meeting delivery windows time frames and dependable and reliable expectations

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 +years of truck driving experience required
• Minimum one (1) year of propane service, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, utility, or related field experience preferred.
• Oil, Gas, or Propane experience highly preferred
• Valid Class A, B, or C CDL (commercial driver’s license) required
• Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brakes endorsement indicated on license
• Ability to operate in adverse weather conditions, including off road
• Ability to abide by all DOT rules and regulations
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals and reports
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
• Consistently demonstrates cooperative, team-oriented behavior
• Working knowledge of propane equipment, regulators, piping systems, appliances, combustion systems, and pressure testing procedures preferred.
• Safety conscious and understand safe work practices for operating in the oil and gas field and on the road
• Maintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance on equipment as well as ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order at all times and report deficiencies to maintenance staff
