Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience.
• Valid South Carolina CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement.
• Proof of current DOT physical.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Must meet MVR requirements and hold SC driver's license.
• Drug screening and background check performed.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt distributor/tack truck and perform basic maintenance.
• Load and unload distributor equipment.
• Apply tack or prime material accurately.
• Understand paving operations including grades and patterns.
• Maintain equipment and report major problems.
• Assist with shovel work and setting string line.
• Set screed extensions as needed.

ASPHALT DISTRIBUTOR OPERATOR / TACK TRUCK DRIVER

King Asphalt, Inc. is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill an Asphalt Distributor Operator position for our local operations. This is a highly skilled position involving control and operation of the Asphalt Distributor/ Tack Truck. Day and Night work included in the opening.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• May oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
• Loading and unloading distributor
• Proper application of tack or prime
• Possess a solid understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction, and other details related to asphalt paving
• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of CDL driving experience required.
• Must have a valid South Carolina CDL Class A or B with a tanker endorsement

• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
