Job summary

Dot Foods in University Park, IL is seeking a Driver Supervisor responsible for driver assignments, scheduling, and coordinating product movements to customers, vendors, and distribution centers. You will oversee use of company equipment and fleet to ensure timely deliveries and efficient operations.

The role requires knowledge of DOT and Hours of Service rules, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all guaranteed inbound product movements, such as inbound vendor purchase orders for both Dot Foods and internal company transfers.
• Manage driver assignment for all loads, inbound and outbound.
• Assist in the coordination of product transfer to other distribution centers.
• Perform specific duties in measuring and reporting driver payroll, service levels, fleet performance, etc.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.

Location: University Park, IL
Department: Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI)
Reports To: Assistant Transportation Manager
Salary Range: $70,927 - $106,390 annually, plus bonus opportunity

As a Driver Supervisor, you will be responsible for driver assignments, scheduling, and coordinating product movements to customers, vendors, and distribution centers through the efficient use and management of company equipment, fleet, and drivers, in addition to various duties as determined by the Transportation Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Adhere to all guaranteed inbound product movements, such as inbound vendor purchase orders for both Dot Foods and internal company transfers
• Manage driver assignment for all loads, inbound and outbound
• Assist in the coordination of product transfer to other distribution centers
• Perform specific duties in measuring and reporting driver payroll, service levels, fleet performance, etc.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Dot experience

ROLE SPECIFICS

• Travel – Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
• Schedule – Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night shift, and on-call) based upon facility needs
