  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
  • Facility: Via Christi Village McLean
  • Location: Wichita, KS
  • Salary: $16.50 - $22.33 per hour

Responsibilities

Transport people from site while maintaining the assigned schedule.

  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Inform supervisor of any unusual situations or accidents immediately.
  • Assist riders entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Comply with all traffic safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist the department supervisor with the daily activities of the Transportation department.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle daily for cleaning and safety issues.
  • Maintain accurate logs per required standards.
  • Follow established schedules, adjust schedules to meet unanticipated changes, and determine safest and most efficient pickup and delivery routes.
  • Drive specially equipped van to deliver physically limited persons to various destinations; assure that wheelchair lifts and tie down equipment are properly operated and that riders are delivered to appointments in a timely manner.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Heart Saver AED obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Chauffeur preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
