Job summary

Bristol Management Services is seeking a Ready-Mix Driver for our Ventura/Oxnard operation in CA. The role involves delivering concrete to job sites using a mixer truck, performing safe operations, and complying with Federal and State laws.

You will drive, load, unload, and maintain accurate logs while ensuring customer service and on-time deliveries. Applicants must hold a valid California CDL (Class A or B) with Air Brake and Tanker Endorsements, maintain a good driving record, and be prepared

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid unrestricted California Commercial Driver License (Group A or B) and comply with DOT regulations.
• Must have Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement and a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck safely and timely to locations for unloading.
• Attach and detach concrete mixer components and assist with loading as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report repairs.
• Maintain clean truck and prevent concrete buildup in mixer and on vehicle.
• Record daily driving activity accurately and maintain customer communications with dispatchers and plant management.
• Work six days per week, with overtime as needed, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

Regular Part Time Ventura, Oxnard, CA, US

Summary/Objective:

As a valued member of our team, you will be working for our well-established, medium-sized construction materials company with multiple production plants throughout California. The Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for driving a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites. The role requires the driver to operate the truck in a safe and efficient manner, following and adhering to all applicable Federal & State laws.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Essential Functions:

• Drive truck safely and timely to location for unloading.
• Drive truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer.
• Move levers on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and reports repairs to personnel.
• Assemble, disassemble, lift, and carry chutes.
• Clean truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck.
• Maintain a clean vehicle, always cleaning it while on duty (spray surfaces of truck with water and protective compounds for cleaning purposes), on company time.
• Monitor trucks and other company equipment to ensure appearance, safety, and proper maintenance levels.
• Maintain accurate work and driving records of daily activities.
• Maintain a high level of customer service through courteous and effective communication with dispatchers, plant management, other drivers, contractors, and customers.
• Perform all duties assigned by management in a timely manner.

Non-Essential Duties:

• Assist in yard functions, lifting materials and operating yard equipment.
• Attend safety and other training meetings as required.

• Able to communicate effectively with other staff.
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work may vary at plant or other location. Not eligible for remote work. Must be available 6 days a week and to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience:
