Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Ocala, FL. This local, home daily role offers weekly pay, benefits after 30 days, and paid training. Start time 5:45 AM, Monday through Friday, with a 40–50 hour schedule and a 26' straight truck. Equal opportunity employer with opportunities for growth.

You will operate well-maintained trucks, participate in safety programs, and support operations across Florida with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Must have verifiable driving experience in like equipment for straight/box trucks.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification (last 3 years).
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of vehicle in compliance with safety regulations.
• Follow all applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
• Load/unload freight as required by customer and maintain accurate records.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck):
• 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

This position does not require the operation of CDL-regulated equipment. However, candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
