Job description

Purpose

Responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering materials to customer sites. Adheres to driver safety and compliance regulations, delivers undamaged goods on schedule, and provides professional service to customers. Drives CMV vehicles weighing less than 26,000 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Loads and appropriately secures product, materials, or supplies inside the delivery vehicle.
2. Delivers customer orders to specified sites and unloads materials safely and accurately.
3. Protects the product and customer property during handling.
4. Verifies order details and maintains logs of delivery duties, including amounts, weights, mileage, and delivery locations.
5. Checks items against invoices to ensure order accuracy.
6. Acts as a customer service liaison, handling concerns and resolving issues as they arise.
7. Maintains cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and performs routine safety checks.
8. Uses handheld devices (except while driving) to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS regulations.
9. Maintains hours of service logs and performs pre/post trip inspections.
10. May perform credit or product return pickups and related paperwork.
11. Operates forklifts or non-motorized equipment to load and unload materials.
12. Follows all safety procedures to prevent injuries and attends safety meetings.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license.
3. Previous delivery experience, preferably in building materials.
4. Pass MVR report and obtain a DOT medical card.
5. Basic math and measurement skills.
6. Ability to read and speak English.

Work Environment / Physical Activity

Work is performed in a production environment with temperature variations, chemicals, mechanical parts, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 200 pounds with assistance. Tasks may include climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling, and operating delivery vehicles.
