Ready Mixed Concrete Co., a CRH Company, in Omaha seeks a Ready-Mix Driver to transport freshly mixed concrete from the plant to job sites safely.

You will comply with DOT requirements, operate the truck, inspect equipment, and complete paperwork. The role requires a CDL, willingness to work nights/weekends, and the ability to read maps and GPS for routing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with ready-mix trucks preferred.
• Possess Class A or B CDL and DOT medical card.
• Ability to read maps and GPS directions.

Responsibilities

• Comply with DOT requirements including licensing, vehicle inspection, and hours of service.
• Operate truck safely on public highways and job sites.
• Inspect the truck and complete the Driver Check-off Sheet.
• Deliver concrete to the point of delivery and back under batching plant or hopper.
• Assemble concrete chute(s) and operate hand/foot levers.
• Follow instructions and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and post-load cleaning.
• Meet eligibility for interstate commercial driving.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Ready‑Mix Driver will be responsible for transporting freshly mixed concrete from the plant to the job site in a safe manner, including making mandatory operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Comply with DOT requirements including licensing, vehicle inspection, and hours of service.
• Operate truck safely on public highways, roads, in the yard area and at various job sites.
• Inspect the truck each workday start and complete the Driver Check‑off Sheet.
• Maneuver the truck to deliver concrete to the point of delivery; back truck under batching plant or hopper.
• Climb the ladder (≈10‑12 ft) to view load consistency and check drum cleanliness.
• Adjust trailer axle pressure based on load weight.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, including city street maps and directions; complete required paperwork.
• Assemble concrete chute(s) weighing 30‑50 lbs each.
• Operate hand and foot levers, follow hand signals while driving.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and perform mandatory post‑load cleaning to prevent concrete build‑up.
• Meet eligibility requirements for driving a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce (FMSR and DOT).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with ready‑mix trucks or related industry preferred.
• Age 18+.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Possess and maintain a Class A or B CDL.
• Possess and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
• Report to plant ready and on time.
• Strict adherence to safety procedures.
• Work independently and on team; assist with other duties.
• Be available for nights, weekends, holidays as needed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Read plant site maps, city street maps, GPS.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic math skills; read truck gauges.
• Use tablet for load status, timekeeping, training.

Physical Requirements

• Communicate via email, telephone, in person.
• Sit, use hands, finger; lift up to 25 lbs, regularly up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, speak, hear.
• Make coordinated hand movements for switches.
• Climb stairs, ladders, inclined walkways, elevated platforms.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather; exposure to fumes or airborne particles; seasonal temperature extremes; vibration and moderate noise.
