The Driver License section provides Colorado credentials to the citizens throughout the state which include driver licenses, instruction permits, commercial driver licenses, and identification cards.
In this trainee role, you will learn to ensure compliance with Colorado Revised Statutes and Federal laws, Department policies, rules and procedures in the issuance of Colorado documents to qualified applicants. This position reports onsite at the Adams Driver License Office, located at 12200 Pecos St, #100, Westminster CO 80234. May be required to travel and work between multiple Driver License Offices.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Newly hired (or transferred) Driver License Technician Trainees are designated "in training" for the first year in this position.
Driver License Technician Trainees receive Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) training and regular DLF skills evaluations. Before completing one year in position Driver License Technician Trainees are required to complete DLF Certification. After one year in the position, the Trainee may be reallocated to a Technician II.
Failure to achieve DLF Certification during the first year in position may result in removal from position and possible termination of employment.
Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.
As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
