Job summary

Juniper is seeking a Driver Lead Agronomy Tech to guide a team in managing ornamental plants, turf, and landscapes. You will provide technical support, monitor plant health, perform soil tests, and recommend amendments while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with the Agronomy Manager to optimize growth, health, and appearance across diverse settings, applying IPM strategies and coordinating with clients to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and motivate with strong communication skills.
• GI-BMP certification required within first 7 days of hire.
• Deep knowledge of pesticides, fertilizers, soil science and equipment calibration.
• Knowledge of turf and ornamental issues common to landscapes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians delivering turf and ornamental care across schedules and work orders.
• Follow a strict, supervisor-provided schedule.
• Monitor plant health; diagnose pest diseases and environmental stress.
• Conduct soil testing and recommend amendments.
• Monitor soil moisture and provide feedback to supervisor.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides per label instructions and regulations.
• Ensure safe operation and cleaning of tools, vehicles, and equipment; maintain safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of products used (fertilizers/pesticides).
• Communicate status of tasks to clients and team; coordinate with supervisor.
• Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to prevent infestations.

Job description

The Driver Lead Agronomy Tech is responsible for providing guidance and support in the management of ornamental plants, turf, and landscapes as well as providing technical support and expertise. This role involves working closely with the Agronomy Manager to ensure optimal growth, health, and appearance of turf and plants in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of technicians providing technical guidance and support on turf and ornamental care ensuring the effective completion of all schedules, work orders, and tasks
• Follow a strict and regimented schedule provided by a supervisor
• Monitor plant health and diagnose issues related to pest diseases and environmental stress
• Conduct soil testing to determine nutrient levels and recommend appropriate amendments
• Monitor soil moisture levels and provide feedback to supervisor
• Applying fertilizers and pesticides as needed to lawns, shrubs and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies
• Safely handling and mixing fertilizers and pesticides according to label instructions
• Ensuring the safe, proper operation and cleanliness of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Producing accurate records of fertilizers and pesticides used
• Complete all assigned work orders and communicate status accordingly
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to understand project needs and deliver quality results
• Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to control and prevent pest infestations

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and motivate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of pesticides, fertilizers, soil science, and equipment calibration
• Knowledge of common turf and ornamental issues
• Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) Certification required within the first 7 days holding position required
• In-depth knowledge of equipment, tools, and machinery needed for landscaping operations.
• Proficient in computer and technology skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and mobile devices.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license (or equivalent) and meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) verification requirements
