Job summary

TransWest is hiring for a CDL Class BDriver trainee position in Everett, WA. You will complete a 4-week sponsored training program to obtain a Passenger endorsement and then operate company vehicles to transport business clients on scheduled routes.

Upon successful licensing, you transition into a CDL driver role with duties that emphasize safety, customer service, and reliable transport. Candidates should enjoy working with people and possess strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • 6 months of professional driving experience.
  • Current/Active DOT Medical Card.
  • Able to communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities

  • Complete 4-week Sponsored Training Program to obtain Passenger endorsement.
  • Transport business clients to and from scheduled routes safely and reliably.
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety checks on assigned vehicles and report defects in a timely manner; complete all required operations documentation daily.
  • Create a welcoming environment and deliver seamless experience for corporate commuters.
  • Must be professional and safety minded.
  • Perform DOT daily inspections on assigned equipment and fuel equipment as necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service in every interaction.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We'll pay you to get your CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement

Upon successful completion of the program and licensing, participants transition into a CDL driver role at TransWest.

Compensation
  • $25.00 - $28.50/ hour during training (based on CDL status)
  • $28.50 / hour fixed wage upon successful completion of the class

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) accrues in accordance with company policy and may be used for vacation, personal, or sick time. Team Members are eligible to accrue up to 80 hours (10 days) of PTO annually, with increased accrual opportunities based on years of service.
  • One paid personal day annually. 8 hours for full-time Team Members and 4 hours for part-time Team Members.
  • Seven Company-Observed Holidays. Full-time non-exempt Team Members receive eight hours of holiday pay and part-time non-exempt Team Members receive four hours of holiday pay for eligible holidays.

  • Quarterly Safety Performance Bonus opportunity for Team Members who meet established safety program requirements

Requirements
  • Obtain CDL Permit
  • Complete 4-week TransWest Sponsored Training Program
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • 6 Months of professional driving experience
  • Current/Active DOT Medical Card
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT drug test
  • Enjoy people and excel at customer service
  • Able to communicate proficiently in English
  • Able to work independently, yet able to take direction
  • Employment contingent on background check
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain seated and operate a vehicle for extended periods
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles, including vehicles with stairs, multiple times throughout the shift
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections, which may involve bending, reaching, or kneeling
  • Ability to lift, move, or position items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate clearly with passengers, dispatch, and team members
  • Ability to maintain focus and alertness while driving in various weather, lighting, and traffic conditions
  • Ability to perform the essential driving functions required to operate the assigned vehicle safely and in compliance with DOT and company standards
