Overview

Driver II - Package Delivery and Warehouse at Exela Technologies. As a Driver II, you will be an integral part of our transportation team, responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to their destinations. You will represent our company with professionalism and courtesy while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload goods onto and from the vehicle, ensuring that items are properly secured to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods, considering factors such as traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times, and report any discrepancies or issues to the transportation supervisor.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, and report any maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and customers, including courteous and professional communication and assistance with unloading goods as needed.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Handle any unexpected delays, changes, or issues that may arise during transportation, such as traffic accidents or adverse weather conditions, and communicate effectively with the transportation team and customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, and ensure that all required safety equipment and documentation are present and up-to-date.
  • Continuously monitor and adhere to delivery schedules and deadlines, prioritizing urgent deliveries as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • DOT physical is required for this role.
  • Receive and record all regular and priority packages from commercial vendors and the postal service.
  • Receive items and reconcile purchase orders and invoices; work with customers, suppliers and business units to complete goods receipt.
  • Coordinate received items for pick-up and deliver mail and packages to customers throughout the building.
  • Maintain a variety of detailed records and metrics concerning items received and/or delivered, destination and to whom they are delivered.
  • Prepare daily outgoing domestic and international shipments using a computerized shipping system and ensure export compliance criteria is adhered to.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Knowledge Of
  • Operations, services and activities of a central warehouse facility.
  • Principles and procedures of shipping and receiving and inventory control.
  • Operational characteristics and use of computerized shipping system.
  • Methods and techniques of warehousing and storage.
  • Postal and shipping requirements and regulations.
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping.
Ability To
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Operate a pallet jack and dolly.
  • Operate office equipment including computers, and software applications used for recording items.
  • Pack, label and prep items for safe transport prior to shipping products.
  • Maintain files and records.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and courteously verbally and in written format.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with team members and customers.
  • Keep work area clean tidy and free from debris.
  • Sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; operate assigned equipment; lift 50 pounds; bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and understanding of when to engage supervisor regarding potential hazards.
  • Follow the security and privacy policies, standards and guidelines in order to protect the informational assets of both the company and their customers.
  • Twist, bend and climb; repetitive motion activities required.
  • Handle several tasks with frequent interruptions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Work at computer for long periods.
Work Environment

Work in various office environments (e.g. computer room, production floor, warehouse and shipping/receiving). Occasional exposure to dust, dirt, toner, ink and other environmental factors is possible.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver\'s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical.
  • Ability to drive a Straight Truck up to 26,000 GVWR.
  • Must have a minimum of one year verifiable driving experience in similar sized vehicles within the last 3 years with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to read a map and understand directions.
  • Strong knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading goods.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
