Job summary

State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking a Driver & Identification Service Center Consultant to issue licenses and IDs, administer driving tests, and ensure compliance with REAL ID requirements. You will verify identities, review records, and contribute to a high-quality, service-oriented DMV operation.

The role emphasizes leadership, training, and collaboration to improve safety and mobility for Iowans, with regular hours and in-state travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Four years of full-time work experience in public administration or related fields.
• Total of four years of education and/or full-time experience as described; college coursework can count as experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch within the Motor Vehicle Division of the Iowa DOT.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily team workflow and support supervisor.
• Serve as primary contact for licensing/IDs and conduct drive tests.
• Verify identity and issue credentials per REAL ID rules.
• Administer and score driving examinations including various tests.
• Review records to determine issuance decisions and conduct re-examinations.
• Mentor and share expertise to strengthen the team.
