Job summary

Specialty Beverage is seeking a Driver Helper/Driver Trainee for Springfield, VA to support beverage deliveries across Virginia. You will work with CDL drivers, assist with unloading, and learn route management and customer service.

This full-time role starts at $23.00 per hour with opportunities to progress to CDL Driver positions. Ideal candidates are physically able, possess a valid driver’s license, and have strong customer service skills.

Specialty Beverage is in search of a Driver Helper/Driver Trainee for our retail routes based out of Springfield, VA. The primary responsibility for these positions is to ensure the successful and timely delivery of our products throughout the state of Virginia.

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Early morning start times with routes completed during the day.

• Starting Pay: $23.00 per hour
• Opportunity to advance into CDL Driver positions earning $24-$26 per hour and beyond

Job Requirements

• Ride along with CDL Drivers delivering beverage products throughout Virginia
• Assist with unloading cases and kegs using hand trucks and pallet jacks
• Learn route management, delivery operations, and customer service
• Perform delivery routes averaging 15-25 stops per day
• Deliver products to bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and retail accounts
• Assist with truck loading, organization, and route preparation
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude
• Develop skills required for advancement into a CDL Driver role

This is a physically demanding position requiring frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.

• Case of 24 cans 15 3/4 \" X 10 1/2 \" X 5\" -- 10 to 30 lb.
• Case of 24 bottles 16 1/2 \" X 10 1/2 \" X 10\" -- 25 to 48 lb.
• Quarter Barrel 15 1/2 \" in diameter, 14\" long-- 87 lb.
• Half Barrel 15 1/2 \" in diameter, 23\" long -- 165 lb.

Critical Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position

• Walking and climbing steps and stairs on a frequent basis
• Two handed lifting, handling, carrying cases from floor to overhead on a frequent basis
• Two handed lifting, handling, carrying quarter barrels and half barrels from floor to 48\" on a frequent basis
• Pushing and pulling two wheeled hand truck with cases on level surfaces on a frequent basis
• Pushing and pulling pallet jacks with cases and/or barrels on level surfaces on an occasional basisSustained squatting, kneeling, stooping and bending while moving cases and barrels
• All candidates considered will have a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and a physical exam.
