Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking a Driver to ensure safe, punctual transportation of patients to homes, Day Health Centers, and appointments. You will adhere to vehicle safety protocols, assist patients during transit, and help coordinate with the care team.

The role requires a valid California driver’s license, ability to handle wheelchair lift equipment, and a patient-centered approach with elderly populations. CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred, as is experience in transportation-related roles.

Qualifications

• Must have valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate all vehicle types used by our client and basic mechanical knowledge.
• One year of experience with frail or elderly populations preferred.
• Flexibility, creativity, and ability to interact positively with elderly patients with mature judgment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, or other languages highly preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications highly preferred.
• Previous experience in transportation services or similar roles highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate vehicles, including wheelchair tie-down and lift usage, while transporting patients.
• Maintain patient and vehicle safety through regular maintenance, pre-trip inspections, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide punctual and safe transport for patients, meals, and supplies as scheduled or requested.
• Support patient care plans developed by the team, assisting patients during transport and reporting observations to the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/move weight within individual physical capability, use appropriate lifting devices, or request assistance when needed.
