Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking a Service Planner to support drivers by scheduling maintenance and coordinating with shop leadership and vendors. You will assist technicians with work orders and provide ETAs for driver readiness, while ensuring proper documentation and warranty considerations.

The role requires at least one year in service planning, a high school diploma or GED, and solid mechanical knowledge of DOT equipment.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in service planning, preferably in a heavy truck environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical knowledge of DOT approved equipment; demonstrated superior customer service skills; computer keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Receive red tags from drivers and process work orders; coordinate equipment with Driver Services and Customer Service; assign jobs to mechanics; coordinate farmed-out equipment with outside vendors.
• Processes work orders and communicates with Safety/Service Providers about write-ups.
• Coordinates with Driver Services and Customer Service regarding equipment in shop (time estimates, etc.).
• Plan daily workload (repair orders/assign jobs) and coordinate with Shop Supervisor regarding workloads.
• Inspect all repair orders for warranty information and proper coding.
• Coordinate with warranty department to ensure outsourced units are under warranty.
• Maintain the shop DNR work log and handle shop calls for units in/out of the shop.
• Coordinate with Onroad and handle all road calls within 75 miles of the shop.
• Provide Owner Operators with copies of completed repair orders.
• Work with Parts to order needed parts for repairs.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere to meet company demands.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
