Job summary

Operation Fresh Start is seeking a Driver Education Coordinator and Instructor to lead behind-the-wheel training and coordinate a program for emerging adults in Madison, Wisconsin.

You will recruit participants ages 18 to 24, conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, and manage a caseload while ensuring compliance and quality of instruction. This on-site role offers a competitive starting salary and a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Ability to create meaningful relationships with a diverse population of emerging adults.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to be insured while driving Operation Fresh Start and 4‑Lakes vehicles.
• Ability to maintain driver’s license credentials throughout employment, including renewals every 2 years.
• Ability to operate a 15-passenger van safely and confidently.
• Strong computer and organizational skills for reporting data quantifying performance measure results to meet compliance standards.
• Ability to coordinate, manage, and sustain a large caseload.
• Professional disposition to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employers, partner agencies, and committees.
• Function as part of a dynamic team cooperating with supervisor and co‑workers in order to provide the optimum organization service.
• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and be able to multitask.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Completion of behind‑the‑wheel training with 4‑Lakes Driver Training School to become the behind‑the‑wheel instructor for Operation Fresh Start participants.
• Recruitment of emerging adults (ages 18 to 24) through a variety of ways (in person, social media, etc.) to participate in programming.
• Facilitate classroom and behind‑the‑wheel activities to prepare emerging adults to take and pass their driving permit test.
• Case management of participants to ensure participants complete the steps in place to obtain their driver’s license.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to provide additional services as needed.
