Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools seeks a part-time Driver's Education (Behind-the-Wheel) Instructor at Proviso West High School to teach students behind the wheel and develop their driving skills in a structured safety-focused program.

The ideal candidate holds an Illinois Professional Educators License with a Safety & Driver Education endorsement for grades 9-12; a Master's Degree and prior high school teaching or IB/AP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educators License with endorsement in Safety & Driver Education (Grades 9-12).
• Master's Degree; previous high school teaching experience and IB/AP coursework preferred.
• Multiple endorsements/licenses are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule determined based on student enrollment in the program.
• Instruct students behind the wheel to develop driving skills and knowledge of traffic rules.
• Manage student behavior to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Maintain and prepare all necessary records and reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
