Job description

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in maintaining an organized warehouse environment while operating the crane truck to support field operations through timely material pickups and deliveries to job sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Safely operate a crane truck (CDL and crane operator certification required) with manual transmission to transport, pick up, and deliver a wide range of materials to and from job sites, vendors, and company locations.
  • Perform scheduled material pickups from vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Operate the truck-mounted crane to load and unload materials when additional crew support is unavailable onsite.
  • Assist with manual loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment when required.
  • Manage daily warehouse operations during morning hours (approximately 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 a.m.) to support field crews and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Check small equipment and power tools in and out for field personnel.
  • Prepare and distribute materials and supplies for foremen and job site crews as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment.
  • Operate a forklift periodically to assist with warehouse and material handling operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs for tools, supplies, and materials to procurement manager.
COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid CDL B required
  • Current DOT Medical Physical required
  • Clean driving record from the last three (3) years
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Ability to resolve problems/concerns and attend to details and time limits.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take direction and constructive criticism.
  • Shows initiative and needs minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety equipment including PPE.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Constant physical effort, including standing and sitting, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
  • Employee must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform key duties.
  • Frequently walk and climb on uneven surfaces of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and carry at least 30 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools.
  • Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the road construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
  • The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
  • Full-time position with consistent hours; overtime and weekends may be required
  • Work performed outdoors at active civil construction sites and yards
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and uneven terrain
