Job summary

ServiceSource, Inc. is seeking a dependable Mail Carrier/Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for pickup and delivery of mail, perform daily vehicle inspections, and maintain accurate mileage and time logs, while carrying essential supplies in the van.

A valid driver's license with a clean MVR is required, and Secret level clearance may be needed per contract. This role supports our disability-focused nonprofit mission under JWOD guidelines and offers safety, stability, and benefits.

Responsibilities

Salary/Hourly Rate:21.14/hour

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Responsible for pickup and delivery of mail in a safe timely manner to customer or destination according to the assigned schedule and designated routes.
  • Perform daily inspection of vehicle to include, but not be limited to: ensuring that the tires are in good condition, oil and water are at appropriate levels, the exterior of the van has not been damaged, etc.; and provide written documentation to supervisor of needed service or repairs. Maintain interior vehicle cleanliness on a daily basis and exterior as needed.
  • Maintains logbooks documenting all pick-ups and deliveries and accurately complete mileage and time logs.
  • Ensure that employees/route listing, directions and maps are in the van. Ensure that the proper number of flares, safety triangles, first aid kits, jacks, flashlights, etc., are in the van and in proper working order.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Complete accurate incident and seizure reports as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Years of experience driving a passenger vehicle will be based on contract requirements.
  • Per contract, valid driver’s license and good motor vehicle (MVR) required.
  • Secret level clearance required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to resolve customer service related issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
