Qualifications

  • 1 year of practical trade experience is required.
  • English and Spanish language ability is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred or required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks as directed by supervisor to meet job needs.
  • Experience with concrete work: tilt wall forms, footings, slab work, cast-in-place walls and columns.
  • Maintain safety, follow directions, and sustain production pace.
  • Properly install and tie rebar; install and dismantle forms; keep forms plumb and square.
  • Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and follow safe work practices.
  • Operate equipment (skid steers, excavators, backhoes, forklifts, power trowels) as trained and conduct pre-trip inspections.
  • Report any mechanical problems, near misses, and supply needs promptly.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety manuals.

Job description

The basic function of this position is to work closely with other team members to complete assigned tasks on time, under budget, and within tolerance in a manner that aligns with Procon, Inc’s values and goals. This position will be a manual labor position and the ability to follow directions is critical. This position will require common sense, logical thought processes, and the ability to work in a safety conscious manner. This position requires the employee to provide their own personal hand tools and to wear all required PPE. All employees are expected to adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Procon Employee Handbook and Corporate Safety Manual and behave in a manner that aligns with Procon’s Values.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  • General:
  • Carpenters are required to perform a variety of tasks depending on job needs and supervisor instructions
  • Experience with concrete work is mandatory, includes concrete tilt wall forms, footings, slab work, cast in place walls and structural forms for columns, decks, elevator cores, parking garages, etc).

  • Will set and maintain personal work pace in order to accomplish production goals set by site leadership
  • Will motivate and empower co-workers in immediate vicinity to maintain work pace to accomplish target production goals
  • Be aware of upcoming equipment, tool and material needs for assigned tasks and communicate any lack to supervisor at least 24 hours prior to needing
  • Properly install and tie rebar according to the plans and specifications
  • Properly install all necessary form required for assigned tasks
  • Must be able to dismantle same forms
  • Forms must be installed plumb, accurate, and square
  • Maintain clean and organized jobsite to prevent and eliminate potential job site hazards
  • Recognize and understand safe work practices such as proper lifting, fall protection requirements, PPE requirements, fire protection, etc.
  • The physical demands will be standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, squatting and bending for long periods of time on a regular basis. This job will require a full range of body movements including but not limited to, the full use of hands, feet, arms, legs, back, and torso; the ability to push, pull, and lift. Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs repeatedly or continuously over time without “giving out” or fatiguing. Excellent eyesight, with or without correction, is necessary.
  • Equipment/Vehicle Operation:
    • Must have the ability to operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, backhoes, forklifts, power finishing trowels, and motor vehicles as required by site leadership (training will be provided as deemed necessary by leadership)
    • Conduct and document daily pre-trip and pre-startup inspections of any vehicle or equipment to be operated. Report any faulty or non functioning items immediately to supervisor
    • Have knowledge in the safe and correct way to operate required equipment and vehicles. Do not operate any equipment or vehicles unless properly licensed and trained
    • Must obey all applicable traffic laws and safety procedures, such as seatbelt usage, etc
  • Clerical/Other:
    • Assist with accurate time collection by reporting time in detail to supervisor each day
    • Report all near misses, incidents, or accidents to the job site supervisor
    • Promptly report any and all mechanical problems with equipment or vehicles as well as any needed supplies for the job site
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • All other duties required by Foreman or other Operations leadership
    • Follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and Corporate Safety Program
