Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Brewster is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver. The role trains to drive a Class B box truck, provides onsite service for parts washer machines, picks up containerized hazardous waste, and sells products and services along a defined route.

As part of the Clean Harbors family, the role emphasizes health and safety, offers comprehensive benefits and training, may visit 10-12 sites daily, and requires CDL and Hazmat/Tanker endorsements within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to visit 10–12 customer sites per day and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following safe work practices and company policies.
• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day.
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks.
• Upsell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field.
• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses.
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner.
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Class B CDL
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Basic computer and math skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills
• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL)
