Job summary

Canadian River Trucking is seeking a Driver to safely and accurately deliver materials to customers, complying with FMCSA rules and company policies. You will monitor routes, secure loads, communicate updates, and maintain records of deliveries and inspections.

Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip checks, loading/unloading assistance, and providing professional customer service in all weather conditions. A valid Class A CDL and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
  • FMCSA requirements must be met.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or metal building industry preferred.

  • Secure freight and apply tarps as required.

  • Document deliveries with photos and updates to customers/internal teams.
  • Maintain logs of travel, inspections, and cargo.

  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of materials to customers while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations. This role is essential to maintaining customer satisfaction and supporting efficient transportation operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely transport and deliver materials according to assigned routes and schedules
  • Secure freight and apply tarps as required in all weather conditions
  • Provide professional, courteous, and customer-focused service at all times
  • Document deliveries by taking photos and communicating updates with customers and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate logs of travel, inspections, and cargo in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections; promptly report maintenance issues or accidents
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations
  • Collaborate with loading personnel and assist with loading/unloading as needed
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improving transportation processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, including orders, bills of lading, and delivery schedules
  • Ability to safely operate flatbed trucks (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
Education and Experience
  • Valid, unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required, free of any restrictions— no restriction codes, including the "E" (automatic transmission only) restriction.
  • Must meet all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements
  • Previous driving experience in construction, manufacturing, or metal building industry preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
