Job summary

PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. is seeking a reliable CDL B Driver to join our delivery team in Illinois. You will transport goods to customer locations, perform pre/post trip inspections, and ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications include a valid Class B CDL, at least 2 years of Class B driving, ability to read/write English, and a high school diploma or GED. Starting pay ranges from $28.00 to $29.00 per hour with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety practices.
• Ability to secure loads and handle physical job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles in local routes.
• Load and unload delivery vehicle as required.
• Complete pre and post trip vehicle inspections, ensure preventive maintenance.
• Secure loads and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain professional interactions with customers.
• Be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
• Comply with ISO procedures and continuous improvement practices.

Position Summary

The CDL B Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to transport goods to customer locations while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies. This role requires strong attention to safety, efficiency, and customer service.

Travel & Service Area

Drivers operate within designated service regions based on their home terminal. Routes may include:

Specific travel routes and schedules will be discussed during the interview process and may vary based on business needs and location.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles in local routes

Operate delivery vehicle (weight less than or equal to 26,000 pounds GVW) and associated equipment in an efficient and expense conscious manner.

Load and unload delivery vehicle as required

Complete pre and post trip vehicle inspections, insure that required preventive maintenance is completed on vehicles being operated and follow safety procedures

Insure that all materials are properly secured for transit

Be willing to work overtime as needed

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines.

Comply with all elements of the Core Values and use the Quality System, including ISO procedures, corrective and preventative actions, the customer complaint policy, and best practices to achieve continuous process improvements and ensure total customer satisfaction.

Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional, courteous, respectful, ethical manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

Compensation & Pay Transparency

• Starting Pay: $28.00-$29.00 per hour (actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and shift)
• Additional compensation may include overtime, incentives, or shift differentials based on location and role
• Pay is determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location in compliance with applicable state and local laws
